Three Monkeys began with a dream… and with loss. A woman always drawn to warm, distant places lost her partner during COVID. In the silence that followed, she went to Zanzibar.

Something shifted the moment she arrived. Within two weeks she bought a piece of land — no money, no plan, no certainty. Only belief.

People appeared at the right time with the right knowledge. Step by step, the path revealed itself. An unexpected inheritance from her great-grandfather arrived exactly when it was needed most.

What once seemed impossible slowly became real. This is how Three Monkeys came to life.

Even in the darkest moments, something new can begin.

Every stone was laid with intention. Every wall tells a story of persistence, partnership, and an unlikely dream becoming reality.

She oversaw the construction herself — travelling back and forth, learning, adapting, problem-solving alongside local craftsmen and the community who built this place together.

There was no blueprint. No safety net. Only a clear vision of what this place could become — and the determination to see it through.
